The DIY wooden Steampunk Submarine model is built to 1:48 scale; powered by a rubber-band motor, it can travel approximately 2.5 meters. It features a Start/Stop switch and is capable of moving in a straight line or making right and left turns. The gear system drives moving propellers, creating the illusion of underwater propulsion. To operate the wooden submarine model, set the Start/Stop switch to Stop, wind the ratchet knob at the rear of the submarine up to 15 half-turns, place the submarine on a flat surface, flip the switch to Start and let it go. You can make the 3D wooden Steampunk Submarine model perform graceful turns or even a full circle by gently rotating the front wheel to the left or right. The spinning twin propellers and movable fins give the submarine the appearance of active propulsion and directional control. Pay close attention when assembling the pendulum, Start/Stop system and ratchet key; be sure to gently sand and lubricate the gears and other moving parts to ensure the submarine operates smoothly.
