From the authors’ words: The information in this book is true and complete to the best of our knowledge. […] When in late 1983 we began to work on our first book, America’s Cup Yacht Designs, we promised ourselves that we would return to these captivating yachts, and since that time we have never stopped collecting information about them. Our interest in the America’s Cup guided us in this quest, for the J-Class yachts are inseparable from this legendary race that they brought into the modern era while preserving its tradition.

"The sea has no homeland either, and it belongs to all those who stop to listen to it, on this side and on that, where the sun is born and dies".
