Description

Thousands of people every year pay a ticket to see dolphins’ and other cetaceans’ acrobatic shows, unaware of the life these poor extremely intelligent animals lead. No tank, big as it might be, will ever be as vast as the sea and, most importantly, will ever be able to house them and respect their needs. These are not limited to space, but they also include all the other needs that every living being should have the right to see fulfilled: freedom, interaction, social relations, healthy and wholesome food, respect of their nature. No-one should ever be ripped away from their family and from a free life to be locked up in a concrete tank, with the only aim of entertaining others.

This is the story told by Aquarium – thus joining Sea Shepherd’s awareness raising campaign against aquariums – through Geert Vons’ moving narration and Roger Olmos’ eloquent illustrations: a story which shows adults, and especially children, what it actually means to see a dolphin show.

This book is part of the series conceived by #logosedizioni, in collaboration with Sea Shepherd, with the aim of using art and illustration to make people of all ages aware of the crimes committed every day against the oceans and the creatures that inhabit them
