navigare nell’arte

From the maritime collection of the Paolo Clerici Foundation, the most important private collection in Italy, was born the permanent exhibition at the Galata Museo del Mare in Genoa “Navigare nell’Arte”. In this volume are told the stories of ships and ports reproduced in some paintings on display: stories of shipyards, stories of crews, stories of shipowners and stories of passengers. A look that goes beyond the work of art to discover the transformation of the shipping world from the mid-Nineteenth Century to the present day.
