Right of withdrawal for online purchases
1. PROOF OF PURCHASE
In accordance with Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code) and subsequent amendments the customer may exercise the right of withdrawal following a purchase made online through our website (except for the exclusions set out in Art. 55 of Legislative Decree 206/2005), provided that the conditions listed below are met.
We invite the customer to keep the proof of purchase (sales receipt or invoice) delivered by us together with the purchased product, in order to facilitate and speed up the verification procedures for the return.
2. INTEGRITY OF THE PRODUCT
The product must be returned intact and free from defects. The customer has the right to handle the goods in order to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, but is responsible for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling other than that necessary for such purpose. With particular reference to sealed audiovisual products or computer software (as well as any items sealed for hygienic or health-protection reasons), please note that the right of withdrawal lapses if the packaging has been opened after delivery.
3. METHODS AND COMMUNICATION OF THE INTENTION TO EXERCISE THE RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
The customer must send the communication of their intention to exercise the right of withdrawal within and no later than 14 days from the date of receipt of the product. To facilitate and speed up the procedure, a guided function for submitting the withdrawal request is available on our website, which may be used in the following ways:
- Customers with an account: by accessing their personal area, in the “Orders” section, the customer will find the “Request return” button next to the orders that are still eligible. After clicking, they will be able to confirm the order, enter a telephone number, and choose whether to request the return of the entire order or of a single product.
- Customers without an account (guests): the customer may use the public “Request a return” page by entering the order number, the e-mail used for the purchase, and a telephone number. In this case too, it will be possible to choose whether to submit the request for the entire order or for a single product.
Once the request has been submitted through the website, the customer will receive an automatic confirmation receipt via e-mail. Submitting the request through the online form does not automatically entail acceptance of the return: the bookstore will verify the eligibility of the order and will communicate via e-mail the operational instructions for the possible return.
As an alternative to the guided procedure on the website, the customer may in any case send an explicit communication of their intention to withdraw (specifying the product and the order details) within the same 14-day term, by e-mail to the address info@libreriadelmare.it or by Registered Mail addressed to: La Libreria del Mare – Via Broletto, 28 – 20121 Milano (MI).
4. RETURN OF THE PRODUCT
Following the opening of the return request, the customer must ship the product, duly packaged, within and no later than 14 days from the date on which they communicated their decision to withdraw. The packaging must be suitable for the proper protection of the product and must have characteristics similar to those used by us at the time of shipment. The direct costs of returning the product (return shipping costs) are entirely borne by the customer. The product must be sent to: La Libreria del Mare – Via Broletto, 28 – 20121 Milano (MI).
5. REFUND METHODS
In the event of withdrawal, the customer will be refunded all payments made to us for the purchase of the returned goods, including the costs of the original delivery shipment (except for the additional costs deriving from any choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive one offered by us). When managing the return, the customer may avail themselves of one of the following options:
a) Exchange of goods: the customer may request an exchange for goods of a value equal to or greater than that of the returned product (paying the difference due); the shipping costs for sending the new goods chosen in exchange are borne by the customer;
b) Refund of the amount: the customer may request a monetary refund of the amount paid. The refund will be made using the same payment method used by the customer for the initial transaction, unless otherwise expressly agreed.
We reserve the right to withhold the refund until receipt of the goods or until the consumer has demonstrated that they have returned the goods, whichever situation occurs first.
